If you’re in the market for a new laptop, chances are that Acer’s Predator series has crossed your mind. Like many of the laptops on the market right now, the Acer Predator Helios 300 offers great graphics and a long list of user-friendly features for a fairly affordable price.
And with a little money thrown in, it can also be one of the lightest laptops you’ll find. However, the Acer Predator Helios 300 review we’re about to run has something to say about the laptop in particular. We’ve got a bit of a difficult time recommending this particular model, but then again, it does have its good points.
The Acer Predator Helios 300 review we have to run today has a lot of things in common with other notebooks in this price range. For example, most of these laptops offer either an external graphics card or a notebook graphics card.
The only difference between this series and many others on the market today is that it offers something a little unique: an internal, high performance, but still small gpu called the Accelerated Graphics Processing Unit (AGP).
So what makes this little card so special? As compared to many gaming notebooks, the graphics card inside an Acer Predator Helios 300 costs about half the price. In many cases, it costs more than the integrated graphics card.
This means that while you get the same kind of powerful hardware inside, you save a substantial amount of money in the form of the graphics chip.
The main highlight of this notebook in this review is how well built this portable gaming machine is. From the start, the build quality of this notebook felt solid. It did not feel like it was going to easily fall apart soon after being installed into my system.
Despite the weight, the hinges were strong and the screen was also not easily broken.
The battery performance of this notebook is something that caught my attention. While most notebooks in its price range disappoint when it comes to battery life, Acer’s Predator Helios 300 lasted an impressively long time. When the battery in my unit was at its end, I was still able to perform some tasks.
This battery performance is especially good when comparing it to some other models in its price range. Other notebooks in this price range would start to have a hard time producing even an hour of battery life, let alone a full day of gaming.

Along with having a long battery life, the screen on this model has a great display to it. The Predator Helios 300 had an extremely bright and crisp display to it that is very clear and easy to use.
One thing that I really liked about this notebook is that the screen has a high refresh rate which helps to make the image on the screen crisper and more accurate than what I have experienced from other notebooks.
Gaming on the Acer Predator Helios 300 is made easy as well. The large sized laptop is comfortable to use while playing my computer games. The screen is also very clear and crisp, enabling me to enjoy all of my games to their fullest.
There are some other things that this gaming unit has that makes gaming on it even better than what I have experienced. These things include the processor speed, the RAM, and the hard drive.
The two things that really set this laptop apart from all of the other laptops that are available for sale today are the gaming performance and the battery life. Both of these factors, along with the large screen and the extremely loud fans did make this notebook one of the most popular gaming units that are available on the market.
You can find these types of laptops in many different configurations, but the Acer Predator Helios 300 definitely has the best combination of quality, price, and durability. If you are looking for a good gaming machine, then the Acer Predator Helios 300 could be the right choice for you.
